The ’66 Corvette was similar to the ’65 in
overall appearance. However, there were some
significant changes, the biggest being the
introduction of the mighty 427ci big block engine
Increased from 396ci in ’65, Chevrolet offered
two versions instead of one from the previous
year. I guess you could say wild with the
427/390hp version and wilder with the 427/425hp
version. The 390hp 427 featured hydrallic lifters
over the mechanicals in the 425hp version and
made for a more user friendly set up for daily
driving.
These engines were torque monsters putting out
460lbs/ft. with 10.25.0:1 compression
The ’66 we are offering here features a
correct, matching #’s engine, highly desirable
side exhaust, power steering, tinted glass and
factory am/fm radio with power antenna. It’s
been
beautifully restored and is a blast to drive.
